The Project closing conference was held at JRC in Baveno, 27-28 September 2006, please see  for further information.

The event gathered 140 participants from both the EU as well as Norway, Switzerland, US, Japan, Thailand etc. The participants were also evenly distributed between industrial stakeholders (40%), National Reference Laboratories/Government (30%), and institutions, associations, academia etc (30%).

The project works on the development and validation of a means to model the human exposure to chemicals (pesticides, food additives, vitamins) from food.

Risk Assessment of Chemicals in Food and Diet FOSIE (QLK1-1999-00156)
The project works on a risk assessment for chemicals on food.

Project Ecopac
The project deals with the dissemination of eco-friendly recycable packaging technologies and the production of state-of-the-art food and beverage packaging materials in the EU.

Project Biosafepaper
Based on a consortium of most European paper industries the project deals with an alternative approach for the development, validation and calibration issues in relation to safety assessment for the use of paper and board for food packaging.

Project Acosic
The project works on the enhancement and indication of food quality by combination of oxygen scavengers and quality indicator systems for polymer packaging.

Project Specific migration
The project “Specific migration” is a feasibility study for the production of certified reference materials for migration tests.

Project Escape
The project works on the development of an electronic sensor system for the detection of emissions from packagings
